Ubuntu的第一个Bug

launchpad.net是Ubuntu和其他一些开源项目的开发中心，用户可以在这里提交Bug、翻译软件或向开发者提问。
那么，你是否知道，是谁在Launchpad报告了有关Ubuntu的第一个Bug，这个Bug又是什么，有没有修复呢？看完本文，你就明白了。

众所周知，Ubuntu的第一个公开发行版是Ubuntu 4.10 Warty Wathog，发布于2004年10月。

而第一个Bug在4.10开发的时候就产生了。那个Bug，在2004年8月20日，由Ubuntu创始人──Mark Shuttleworth先生报告，题目是：“Microsoft has a majority market share（微软占据了绝大多数市场）”。

Mark说，微软占据了大多数新兴的桌面PC市场，这是一个Bug，Ubuntu要设法修正它。

那么修复的目标是什么？Mark认为：

1. 销售的PC当中大多数应该只包括像Ubuntu在内的自由软件。
2. Ubuntu惊人的功能和便利性将是显而易见并为人所知，并因此而畅销。
3. 随着时间的推移，Ubuntu应该变得越来越友好。

准确来讲，这并非Ubuntu的Bug，而是Ubuntu的使命，因为是Ubuntu要修正这个“Bug”。但是我们还将其归为Ubuntu的Bug，并且这个Bug至今还处于Confirmed的状态，正在修复中。。。

这是Ubuntu第一个，也是最大的一个Bug，修复它可能会花上十年，甚至二十年。

然而，这四年来，在社区的努力下，相信大家都看到了。

* 四年前，没有PC预装Ubuntu，而现在，越来越多的PC厂商推出了预装Ubuntu的电脑。
* 四年前，Ubuntu可能还比较难用，安装系统、安装驱动都不是很便利，而现在，Ubuntu 8.04，安装系统和驱动之简易，无需多说，桌面本身也越来越好用。
* 四年前，Ubuntu以深色的棕色登场，很土也很普通，现在Ubuntu正越来越亮丽和友好。

可以看到，这个Bug正被慢慢地修复中。这是有目共睹的。

Non-free software is holding back innovation in the IT industry, restricting access to IT to a small part of the world's population and limiting the ability of software developers to reach their full potential, globally. This bug is widely evident in the PC industry.

Steps to repeat:

1. Visit a local PC store.

What happens:
2. Observe that a majority of PCs for sale have non-free software pre-installed.
3. Observe very few PCs with Ubuntu and free software pre-installed.

What should happen:
1. A majority of the PCs for sale should include only free software like Ubuntu.
2. Ubuntu should be marketed in a way such that its amazing features and benefits would be apparent and known by all.
3. The system shall become more and more user friendly as time passes.
